Daniel Smith

Dan, a passionate advocate for neurodiversity within the maritime industry, has been a career seafarer since the age of 18. With a background in the offshore, construction, RoRo and dredging sectors, he currently serves as Chief mate on harbour tugs within the UK. As an Autistic, he has first hand experience of the difficulties the neurodivergent community faces every day, and the tremendous amount of potential that goes to waste. Founder and Chairperson of NeurodiversAtSea.org, he dedicates his spare time to creating an inclusive maritime industry for all, where people are accepted for who they are.
