According to Asian Terminals Inc., they are seeking to expand their services beyond the international gateway ports in Manila and Batangas to improve logistics cycles for manufacturers, shippers and transporters in support of the country’s growing economy.
Specifically, Asian Terminals focus on:
- Off-dock container yards;
- Empty container depots and other ancillary facilities;
- Banking on its fundamental strength as a major operator in the Philippines, with an efficient track record and expertise in transmitting cargoes within the supply chain.
ATI executive vice president William Khoury reported that the terminals aspire to develop more facilities that will enhance the existent gateway ports in Manila and Batangas to better-serve its customers.
The projects are to help the terminal accomplish greater operational synergies, helping the industry cope with logistic barriers and also enable them create growth opportunities in the future.
ATI expects to have additional capacity for empty containers by mid-2019.
Moreover, except Manila South Harbout and Batangas Container Terminal, Metro Manila and Southern Luzon and operates an inland clearance depot (ICD) in Calamba, Laguna.
Additionally, ICD is a Customs-bonded facility, beside the South Luzon Expressway in Barangay Mayapa, Calamba.
Finally, ICD essentially delivers cargoes straight from the port to the manufacturers’ doorsteps, making it an ideal one-stop-shop partner for just-in-time production cycles.
