Teekay has produced a video to illustrate what happens during an STS operation. Two merchant tanker vessels positioned alongside each other and transferred cargo (oil or gas cargo). A STS operation requires coordination, proper equipment and approval while both the masters of the ships are responsible for the entire operation.
