On April 11, 2025, the China Classification Society (CCS) announced the appointment of Zhao Yan as its new President, effective immediately.
As informed, Zhao Yan brings over 30 years of experience in maritime regulation, engineering, and strategic management. Known for his leadership and expertise, he is expected to guide CCS forward in its mission to promote safety, protect the environment, and deliver value to clients and society.
He succeeds Sun Feng, who has retired after a career marked by his dedication and contributions to CCS’s global reputation, innovation, and focus on maritime safety and sustainability.
