Fleet Cleaner performed hull cleaning of the largest vessel in the world at the Port of Rotterdam without downtime and despite the rough weather conditions. Pioneering Spirit’s hull was cleaned to the most of the fouled area.
Specifically, Fleet Cleaner’s crew had a variety of operations, as the removal of the pipe-laying stinger and placement of a heavy lifting crane.
The team were able to clean most of the fouled area of the Pioneering Spirit’s hull. The operation was carried out while dealing with turbulent weather, cold temperatures and wind force 7 Bft.
Cleaning the largest vessel in the world during one of most severe storms of the year shows that Fleet Cleaner is capable of cleaning any vessel, anytime of the year.
.. the company stated.
The Pioneering Spirit belongs to AllSeas and is 382m long, making it the largest vessel globally.
Despite its length, the vessel is also built like a catamaran which made it more challenging for Fleet Cleaner to clean the entire hull.
The storm increased the turbulence in the water which caused almost zero underwater visibility.
Yet, Fleet Cleaner’s in-house developed navigation and tracking system, it was able to complete a high-quality hull cleaning.
Pioneering Spirit was able to continue its voyage after six days in port.
