The Singapore-Rotterdam Green and Digital Shipping Corridor (GDSC) has expanded its consortium to 28 members with the addition of Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG) and Gate terminal B.V.

According to MPA Singapore, this milestone comes as the Singapore-Rotterdam corridor celebrates its second anniversary, marking its ongoing commitment to sustainable shipping. The consortium has also released a report forecasting a potential rise in demand for green fuels, projecting approximately 5 million tonnes by 2028.

The Rotterdam-Singapore Green and Digital Shipping Corridor aims to reduce emissions from large container vessels on the 15,000-kilometre route by at least 20% by 2030 by enabling the use of low- and zero-carbon shipping fuels.

A recent bi-annual stakeholder workshop, co-hosted by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Port of Rotterdam, addressed key challenges in the transition to greener shipping.
