Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), published the 2019 Cruise Trends and State of the Cruise Industry Outlook. The report analyses the trends affecting cruise travel in 2019 and beyond, as well as the total global economic impact.
Social media and restorative travel will be the top cruise travel trends in the coming year, according to the report which included an industry research, travel insights, and travel agents’ opinions.
Furthermore, the report reveals that the cruise travel continues to grow and contribute to the overall global economy. Actually, a rise in cruise sales in the next twelve months is expected by more than eight out of ten CLIA-certified travel agents.

An even wider growth is expected for the cruise industry throughout 2019 with an estimated 30 million travellers predicted to cruise, an increase of 6% from 28.2 million in 2018. In the coming year, 18 new ships are on order from CLIA cruise lines. A total of 272 CLIA-member cruise ships are projected to be in operation by June 2019.
Research and forecasting the year ahead allows the cruise industry an opportunity to take a big picture look at the cruise and travel industries to evaluate and predict all of the exciting things to come.
