A big disruption was caused Sunday morning at the Greek Port of Serifos, in the Aegean Sea, involving the general cargo ship ‘Syros Wind’. The video, uploaded by local media, depicts weather conditions with strong southern winds that made the ship to break off its moorings.
According to data provided by local media, an iron tied to one of the cellars broke, making the ship to drift in harbor amid heavy winds, along with its gangway hanging from its starboard.
There was a panic in the harbor, with the ship and crew members fighting for more than an hour with the raging waves.
Reports say an islander assisted crew in letting go the ship from remaining moorings, despite danger.
Eventually the ship was taken under control and brought to anchor, with no damages reported.
