USCG and local agencies continue respond to an estimated 250 gallon diesel spill in Gulfport Harbor, Mississippi. The spill occurred during fuel transfer from a barge to an offshore supply vessel.
USCG says that immediately deployed approximately 1,000 feet of containment boom for the clean up process.
USCG is working together with theMississippi Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Oil Response Company to reduce the impact of the spill.
