Two crew members on a Celebrity cruise ship suffered chemical burns on 2 June. They were rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Virginia.
According to information, the crew members suffered injuries when working, with the cruise ship contacting the Coast Guard Fifth District Command Center that responds to maritime accidents in the US mid-Atlantic region.
The cruise ship sought medical assistance for the crew members, with the ship being about 70 miles from the Virginia shore when the accident occurred.
The Coast Guard dispatched a crew on MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Elizabeth City in North Carolina. They flew a ship doctor and the injured members to the hospital.
