The United States Coast Guard issued another update concerning its COVID-19 statement on March 16, adding more countries to the US’ restrictions, following WHO’s statement that the EU and the US are now the epicentre of the pandemic.
Following the latest USCG statement according to which “if anyone, regardless of where they have been or who they have interacted with, shows symptoms of COVID-19 or other flu like illness. This requires immediate notification to the nearest Coast Guard COTP,” more countries are added to the “restricted” ones.
Presidential Proclamations have placed new entry restrictions from persons arriving from or through the following countries:
- United Kingdom;
- Republic of Ireland.
In addition, the existent entry restrictions from persons arriving from or through the following countries include:
- Iran, China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau)
- The European states within the Schengen Area: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
