The Ukraine’s prosecutor general’s office informed that Ukraine arrested a Russian dredger ship in Odessa, for extracting illegal sand extraction. This is the second Russian ship that Ukraine arrests the past month.
The Crimean’s prosecutor’s office arrested a ship owned by a Russian company, which is currently staying at the port of Yuzhny in the Odessa, Tatiana Tikhonchik, a spokeswoman for the Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office, was cited as saying by TASS news agency.
Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko also informed that the prosecutor’s office will look into the case of illegal sand extraction in the Black Sea’s Karkinit Bay “on temporarily occupied territories.”

TASS said that the sand extraction was done by a dredger from Trans Services Maritime, with a home port in Russia’s Tuapse. Furthermore, Mr. Lutsenko added that the sand “is used for illegal construction” near Kerch.
