The US Coast Guard informed that it is searching for two missing people, after an 18-foot vessel capsizes on December 30, off Jupiter Inlet. The two people missing are a Bahamian national and a 9-year-old Haitian national.
The US Coast Guard Sector Miami received a notification from a good Samaritan vessel stating they were on scene with nine people in the water from a capsized 18-foot vessel. The vessel reportedly capsized during a transit from Freeport, Bahamas to Miami Sunday evening with 11 people aboard.
The two people missing are a Bahamian national, which according to the USCG is a suspected migrant smuggler, and a 9-year-old Haitian national. They went missing after an 18-foot boat capsized, with 11 people aboard, in an apparent migrant smuggling venture from Freeport, Bahamas to Miami.
The US Coast Guard is currently continuing the search for two missing people.
