ConocoPhillips announced that it would set aside a fund to cover cost
Nearly three months after the Bohai Bay oil spill, top-level authorities in China are now ordering a full investigation.
ConocoPhillips China, a subsidiary of the Texas-based oil company, is operating the oil field where the spill occurred. The company has been partnering with the state-run China National Offshore Oil Corporation.
ConocoPhillips announced that it would set aside a fund to cover costs resulting from the spills and “benefit the general environment in Bohai Bay.” However, the exact amount was not mentioned.
