Nepal moves forward with creation of a national shipping line

Landlocked Nepal is boosting its plans to create a national shipping line. Prime minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli opened the Nepal Ship Office in Ekantakuna just to the south of the capital, Katmandu, near the banks of the 600 km-long Bagmati river. Nepal's Prime Minister has been trying for many years to achieve the creation of a national shipping line. In addition, Oli aspires to purchase vessels for riverine trade through the rocky parts of the country, for onward shipment through Indian ports, possibly by rail connections. The prime minister’s chief advisor Bishnu Rimal tweeted concerning the inauguration of the first ever Nepal Ship Office in Ekantakuna, Lalitpur. The Chief Adviror also stated that a ship office is being established in Nepal for the first time in history. Today a dream is taking its first step. Where there is will, there is way.

Yilport’s international volumes continue rise in 2018

Yilport Holding, port management and logistics subsidiary of Yildirim Group had a 'golden year' due to the increase of its business and volumes growth.
