Samsung Heavy Industries informed that it has secured an order to build a 170,000㎥ LNG- Floating Storage and Regasification Unit for a consortium of Marubeni, Sojitz, and Pertamina.

The US Coast Guard Marine Safety Center informed that it has received its seventh application for Ballast Water Management System type approval for the Purimar BWMS manufactured by Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.

The S-Regas(GI) utilizes glycol to regasify LNG into gas and reduces chance of corrosion from traditional method of heating LNG directly with seawater, easing energy savings by 5%. Following the fatal incident of the crane collapse in Samsung Heavy Industries' shipyard, on May 1st, that killed eventually six workers, South Korean police raided several offices of the company,on May 4th, in order to conduct controls on safety measures.

AET announced that up to four of its new Aframax tankers, currently under construction with Samsung Heavy Industries, will be equipped with the LNG dual fuel option. Fitted with twin LNG tanks, the vessels will have the ability to trade on LNG fuel for about a month before refuelling and will likely operate in North America, Northwest Europe and Asia.

GTT received an order from SHI to equip a floating storage and regasification unit with its Mark III cryogenic membrane containment system. This new order includes three optional FSRUs.
