ReCAAP ISC published its 3rd quarter piracy report, informing that during the July-September of 2023, a total of 84 incidents of Armed Robbery Against Ships (ARAS) were reported in Asia. No piracy incident was reported during this period. Of the 84 incidents, 83 were actual incidents and one was an attempted incident.

The Philippines Coast Guard (PCG) has reviewed the threat situation and downgraded the threat level of ‘Abduction of crew for ransom in the Sulu-Celebes Seas’ from 'MODERATE' to ‘MODERATE LOW’.

Three actual incidents of armed robbery against ships (one CAT 2, one CAT 3 and one CAT 4) in Asia were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 10th - 16th October.

Two actual incidents of armed robbery against ships (both CAT 3) in Asia were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 3rd – 9th October 2023.

One actual incident of armed robbery against ships (CAT 4) in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 26th September – 2nd October.

Over the past week, no incident of piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 19th - 25th September. 

Over the past week, no incident of piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 12th – 18th September.

Over the past week, no incident of piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 5th - 11th September.

One actual incident of armed robbery against ships (CAT 2) in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 29th August – 4th September.

Over the past week, no incident of piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 22nd - 28th August.
