US officials are alerted as a small oil tanker from the UAE that was sailing through the Strait of Hormuz turned its tracker off on Saturday, having the US suspect that Iran has seized the vessel due to tensions in the region. Although the Panamanian-flagged Riah turned off its transponder, an Emirati official noted that there was no distress call coming from the vessel.

The US Coast Guard Alaska issued a statement on a missing person after an explosion and subsequent fire at Delong Dock in Whittier, Alaska, according to which they suspend the search on the missing person. The Coast Guard reported that the fire allegedly occurred on a fixed barge and then spread to the pier and then to the fishing vessel. 

On May 19, Maersk Patras reported a man overboard in the Saint Lawrence River. Search and rescue operation started but it was unsuccessful and has now been called off. Namely, the 2nd Officer of the vessel Maersk Patras fell overboard into the Saint Lawrence River (Canada) north east of the junction with Saguenay River.

A fire on the Tanzanian-flagged LPG tanker 'Maestro' in the Black Sea has stopped after one-and-a-half month. The fire erupted on the two Tanzanian-flagged LPG tankers 'Venice' and 'Maestro', while they were transferring fuel in the Kerch Strait, Russia’s territorial waters, Black Sea. 

A Panamax bulker collided with a fishing vessel in Zhejiang Province waters, on February 23. At the time of the incident, the fishing vessel had seven crew on board. Of them, two were rescued, while the remaining five are missing. The bulk carrier was heading from Tangshan, China, Yellow sea, to Zhuhai, South China. The ship received orders to stop its voyage, and wait for investigation.

Ocean Infinity announced that its vessel, Seabed Constructor, sets sail from Cape Town to begin the search for the lost South Korean ship, Stellar Daisy. The vessel sank on March 31, 2017 with the loss of 22 out of 24 of its crew. The vessel was transferring iron ore from Brazil to China and it is believed that it has gone down in the South Atlantic Ocean approximately 1,800 nautical miles due west of Cape Town.

The US Coast Guard suspended the search for a missing Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas cruise ship crewmember 37 miles east of Hillsboro Inlet. Namely, a crewmember from the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas cruise ship had gone overboard. Crews searched for approximately 24 hours covering 1,388 square miles.

According to the Philippines Coast Guard a crewmember from the foreign merchant vessel 'Grande Progreso' allegedly fell in the sea off Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental while underway enroute to Brazil last January 15, 2019. The missing crew member is identified as Mr Dominador Calot Fuentes III, 33 years old and resident of Brgy Baliangao.
