The Maritime Charities Group (MCG) has doubled its bursary fund for seafarer training, an initiative launched in November aimed at UK-based merchant seafarers who are facing redundancy as a direct result of Covid-19. 

The Nautical Institute is launching an online campaign promoting mentoring at sea. Entitled ‘Mentoring at Sea – The 10 Minute Challenge’, the campaign features a series of five short films that cast a spotlight on the many ways in which mentoring improves life at sea while helping mariners to grow professionally.

The US Department of Labor has chosen the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) for a grant of $5,888,738, under the Apprenticeship: Closing the Skills Gap grant program. This is expected to help AAPA to expand leadership within maritime community regarding professional development and training.
