LNG Bunkering project launched in Denmark

The port of Frederikshavn announced that the EU-financed LNG Bunkering Project 'The Nordic Maritime Hub' project has been officially launched in Denmark. The project consortium, consisting of Port of Frederikshavn, Kosan Crisplant and Stena Line, will meet the demands of the modern maritime sector by improving the port access facilities, establishing shore side power supply to be used by e.g. Stena Line’s ferries, and by establishing bunkering facilities for alternative fuels.

Skangas to acquire LNG bunkering facility

The Gasum subsidiary Skangas and the Lyse Group have signed an agreement concerning the sale of the Risavika LNG production plant. The Risavika production plant has an annual production capacity of 300,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG), and the volume of its tank is 30,000 cbm. The acquisition also includes the LNG marine bunkering facility.

MARAD releases LNG Vessel Operations Emission report

The US Maritime Administration announced the availability of a report that quantifies methane slip and fugitive emissions from using liquefied natural gas (LNG) for vessel operations and bunkering. The study, completed in partnership with the University of Delaware and the Rochester Institute of Technology, builds upon earlier work identifying life cycle emissions associated with LNG use using a “well-to-hull” analysis.
