A new situational awareness system has been launched, aiming to reduce the risks of navigation during night, in bad weather on congested waterways. To do this, the system uses sensors with intelligent software. The new system, will collect data, in order to ensure safe navigation.

The Japan Coastguard announced the expansion of their Wave Glider fleet to the 9th Regional District, headquartered in Niigata, Japan, in an attempt to enhance their commitment to ocean monitoring. In the future, a new joint venture company will be create called Niihama LNG and the construction of the LNG plant will begin.
