COSCO Shipping International (Singapore) informed it is taking steps to expand its business in Malaysia by obtaining a lease of a piece of land in Port Klang and constructing a warehouse of approximately 300,000 square feet on the land for the Group’s operations.

China COSCO Shipping Corporations (COSCOCS) conducted a naming ceremony for its sixth Valemax very large ore carrier (VLOC) in Yangzhou on Thursday, April 18. The 400,000 dwt 'Yuan Shen Hai' is one of ten VLOCs Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) will deliver to COSCO under a contract 2016.

COSCO Shipping Ports announced that it signed an investment agreement of COSCO SHIPPING Ports Supply Chain Project with Guangzhou Nansha Economic and Technology Development Zone Commercial Bureau. The agreement regards the development of the first phase of terminal extended business in the land near Nansha Stevedoring Corporation Limited of Port of Guangzhou and Guangzhou South China Oceangate Container Terminal Company.

Hong Kong-based OOIL announced the signing of an investment and cooperation agreement, through its subsidiary Gold Talent, with COSCO Shipping Logistics and JD Logistics, pursuant to which the Parties have agreed to establish a joint venture investing in COSCO's online logistics platform Eshipping.

Seaspan Corporation announced a framework agreement on April 2, regarding a strategic cooperation with COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation Co., Ltd. The two companies will enhance their collaboration regarding LNG investments, LNG projects, LNG transportation, ethane transportation, or other related and mutually beneficial projects.

COSCO Shipping Lines has reached to a low sulphur fuel oil supply agreement with Double Rich Limited, which is a subsidiary of China Marine Bunker (Petro China). Double Rich will now supply COSCO with compliant 0.5% fuel, complying with the upcoming IMO 2020 sulphur cap. COSCO said that this agreement promotes the company's emission reduction technology, and it improves its management pattern. COSCO will now also advance its GREEN Shipping.

Turkey's Yilport Holdins SA is under discussion to purchase a container terminal in Long Beach, California. The discussions are between Yilport's businessman, Robert Yuksel Yildirim, and terminal owner Cosco Holdings Co. Yet, the discussions weren't exclusive as there were at least two more bidders.

One of the world's largest container vessels, 'COSCO shipping Pisces', that has a capacity of 20.000 TEU, was docked at Piraeus port on February 15, after voyaging for one month from China. This is the vessel's first voyage, after its delivery on January 15.
