Under its overall commitment to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, Carnival Corporation is supporting Catalyst's Now Is the Moment - Be a Catalyst campaign, which has raised $21 million toward its $25 million goal.

A federal judge urged Carnival to work faster, in order to mitigate ocean pollution problems, that the company has caused. Namely, during a hearing in Miami, US District Judge Patricia Seitz noted that more concrete actions and less promises are needed from Carnival.

Carnival Corporation, the Miami-based cruise ship major, along with its two cruise line brands, sealed a deal with the authorities of The Bahamas undertaking two essential port developments. Construction is expected to begin by mid-2020, after all environmental and allowance processes are completed.

Carnival Cruise Line secured an approval by the Miami-Dade County Commission for a complete renovation and major expansion of Cruise Terminal F at PortMiami, to enable accommodation of the company's next class of ships. 

In light of the devastating aftermath of the Hurricane Dorian, the cruise industry is helping and offering support to the Bahamas. The Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama Island were hit by the storm, which made landfall as a Category 5 hurricane and lingered in the area for days. 

Cruise ship giant Carnival Corporation announced a partnership with the University of West Florida (UWF), through its CSMART Academy, to enhance the company's fleet-wide environmental officer training program with the launch of a new environmental training course. 

German cruise line AIDA Cruises, part of Carnival Corporation, signed an agreement with marine battery supplier Corvus Energy, regarding the installation of lithium-ion battery storage systems onboard the AIDA Cruises fleet, starting from 2020.

Carnival Corporation announced that Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) Julia Brown has been recognized as one of this year's 'Women to Watch' by Cranfield University. Ms. Brown is recognized as one of only 50 women chosen from over 500 prospective candidates for the annual Women to Watch supplement.

Carnival Cruise Line announced that its newest ship, 'Carnival Panorama', completed sea trials in the Adriatic Sea earlier this week, in anticipation of its inaugural cruise from Long Beach, on 11 December 2019. Panorama became the line’s first new ship on the West Coast in 20 years.

In line with its vision for an emission-neutral cruising, AIDA Cruises, the German brand of Carnival Corporation, is planning the first practical trial of fuel cells aboard an AIDA ship by 2021, the company said in its sustainability report released Monday.
