The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency informed that a supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS) is required for the LNG facility in Tacoma, which is currently being built by Puget Sound Energy.
The SEIS aims to identify and analyze GHG emissions and impacts of the project. Furthermore, a qualitative analysis of the facility’s LNG production will be conducted.
The SEIS will complement the Air and Cumulative Impacts sections of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) related to GHGs, in order to include quantitative analysis of the emissions during the fuel cycle life.
Puget Sound Energy has submitted a Notice of Construction for the Tacoma LNG facility and on November 9 2015, the city of Tacoma issued Puget Sound Energy the FEIS for the facility.
Tacoma LNG facility will be supplying TOTE’s vessels, that are sailing between Tacoma and Alaska, with LNG.
No optional scoping will be available for the SEIS, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency said.
