Stena Rederi, a part of Swedish shipping company Stena AB, and German Glovis Europe are to collaborate in an attempt to operate car and truck vessels in Europe. Both companies have filed documents with the European Commission’s competition authorities to launch their partnership that will operate short-sea transport services on pure car and truck carrier vessels in Europe, according to Lloyd’s register.
Mainly, the partnership revealed the joint collaboration. Yet, up to now, there are no further details on this partnership.

A Stena’s spokesman quoted in Lloyd’s that the company is not in position to release any additional details about the new company.
Additionally, Stena company and Hyundai Glovis have collaborated in the past in other fields. Specifically, in 2013, the two companies operated Stena Polaris, an ice-class P-MAX tanker, as they tested cargo operations through the Northeast Passage.
Finally, the provisional deadline for approval from the European Commission for the latest venture is February 13.
