A German 33-year-old singer is reported missing after going overboard from the cruise ship Aidaluna, while off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, in the early morning hours of Sunday.
Eyewitnesses onboard the ship at that time reportedly saw Daniel Kueblboeck, who became famous in 2003 from his participation to the German version of Pop Idol, jumping from the ship’s fifth deck, according to Daily Mail.
As soon as the incident was noticed, the Aidaluna turned back to search for Mr. Kueblboeck.
The Canadian Coast Guard has confirmed that the search for the missing man is underway about 200 kilometres north of St. John’s, by sea and by air. The Swedish Coast Guard also participates at the search.
At the time of the accident, the ship was on a cruise from Hamburg to New York.
