‘The need to report’ video available
The ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre has made its ‘The need to report’ video available to the public online in an effort to promote enhanced reporting of all incidents and attempted incidents of robbery, theft and piracy against vessels.
This effort has been initiated to better enable shore-based authorities to respond when a threat to merchant ships exists, as well as to enable the same authorities to initiate investigations aimed at apprehending the culprits behind such crimes.
BIMCO has again joined INTERTANKO and RSIS as co-sponsors of the ReCAAP Piracy Conference taking place during Singapore Maritime Week in April 2014. Conference participants will have an opportunity to meet BIMCO’s Chief Maritime Security Officer Giles Noakes. Mr. Noakes will be appearing as a panelist at the conference.
