Princess Cruises, the first cruise shipping line that had announced suspension of operations in March amid the adverse effects of COVID-19 pandemic, now announced an extension of the pause for most of its operations up to 15 December 2020.
The decision comes “due to the continued progression of COVID-19 and related decisions of various government, health authorities, and airlines regarding travel restrictions”, the operator said.
The pause extension impacts all sailings in Asia, Caribbean, California Coast, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama Canal, South America & Antarctica, Japan, and Tahiti/South Pacific through December 15.
It also affects all cruises sailing in and out of Australia on Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, Sapphire Princess, Sea Princess, and Sun Princess through October 31.
We share in our guests’ disappointment in cancelling these cruises. We look forward to the days when we can return to travel and the happiness it brings to all who cruise,
…said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president.
Princess Cruises had its operations severely affected when the pandemic hit a peak in March. Several Princess cruise ships were caught amid the outbreak, including Diamond Princess, Ruby Princess and Grand Princess.
