According to the Portuguese Mobility and Transport Authority, the cargo that was handled in mainland Portugal experienced a 4.4% decrease year-on-year until November to 84.9 million tonnes, with Aveiro and Faro in a counter-cycle.
Specifically, the authority supported that the 3.9 million tonnes decrease was affected by the decreased import of crude oil and coal. However, there are recovery signs in container traffic, recorded to an increase of 0.8% and 1.4% in the volume of cargo containerised.
