After the accident that occurred last week on the Maersk Interceptor drilling rig on Tambar, in which one worker lost his life, the operations are now resuming on the Tambar field.
The deceased, a Norwegian citizen and employee of Maersk Drilling, fell into the sea while performing maintenance work on the rig.
The production on Tambar had shut down on Thursday afternoon, allowing full attention to be devoted to handling the accident.
With a statement, Aker BP informs that “Project activities, well service activities and other activities that are not related to investigation of the accident on Maersk Interceptor will gradually resume in a controlled manner. As a step in this work, production from the Tambar field was started up again on Tuesday.”
Faroe Petroleum plc also mentioned that “The Tambar infill and gas lift installation programme has also recommenced.”
“The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway and the police are investigating the accident. Aker BP and Maersk Drilling have also started their own investigation,” Aker BP concluded.
