The Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei optimized its established CISS service by offering a direct connection from Leixões, Lisbon and Gibraltar to Rotterdam in four, five and seven days respectively.
Starting this month, the new CISS service also connects the major Portuguese ports of Leixões and Lisbon as well as the Port of Gibraltar with Hollands busiest port. As opposed to the previous schedule, which offered one direct connection from Portugal to Rotterdam, the optimized CISS service provides a wider range of opportunities for customers looking to ship from the Iberian Peninsula to Northern Europe.
Three ships with capacities of 700 TEU each are deployed on the new CISS service. All deployed ships are equipped to carry pallet-wide equipment and therefore enable customers to ship more goods per container. Apart from the ports mentioned above, the service also calls on Hamburg, Tilbury, St. Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Agadir, Casablanca and Algeciras.
