An explosion took place onboard the product tanker Trung Thao 36 BLC at Dung Quat Port in Quang Ngai of Vietnam on September 8. Due to the fire one crew member died.
The incident occured while the ship was anchoring near the port and waswaiting for bunkering, Then tone of the cargo tanks exploded.
According to local maritime authorities in Quang Ngai, a rescue team with firefighters went to the scene and tackled the fire. However, the ship’s hull has faced important damages.
All of the ship’s crew jumped into the sea, and 11 of them were rescued by nearby vessels, Neverthless, divers discovered the dead body of a crew member.
