Offshore workers were evacuated from a rig near Aberdeen following a collision with a supply vessel, according to reports.
As reported, UK oil and gas operator Harbour Energy stated that 52 non-essential personnel had been taken off its Valaris 120 installation, about 150 miles east of Aberdeen. There were 128 people before the collision, which happened on 24 November, on the jackup rig Valaris 120. According to the reports, everyone is safe and well.
The non-essential personnel have been flown to Aberdeen on three separate flights. Our incident response teams have been mobilised and are in liaison with the relevant authorities. People are our priority, and everyone onboard the rig and the vessel is safe and well.
…said a Harbour Energy spokesperson.
The installation is deployed alongside the Judy offshore platform, which is a manned platform with accommodation, production, processing and gas injection equipment.
The company said said further information about the incident would be made available when details are confirmed.
