The NYK Group has conducted its winter safety campaign, entitled “Sail On Safety”, which ran for two months from December 1, 2016.
Under the theme “Brush Up on Safety Awareness,” 381 NYK Group executives and employees visited 237 vessels to exchange opinions and strengthen safety awareness between onboard crew and offshore staff.
Executives and employees who visited vessels engaged in face-to-face dialogue to heighten awareness that the fundamental element for the safety of vessels is the physical and mental health of the crew members. Ideas were also exchanged, such as safety measures on each kind of vessels, to reconfirm the importance of smooth communication and mutual understanding.
The NYK Group says that it will continue to strengthen its safety activities through collaboration between onboard crew and offshore staff to ensure that “safety,” which is the group’s most important mission, is maintained.
