Mouawad Consulting AS, provider of consultancy and engineering services related to Ballast Water Management (BWM) onboard ships, announced that recently opened a new office in the city of Shanghai, China, to accommodate rapid growth and leverage the area’s diverse needs for retrofit and commissioning services for BWMS.
In addition to the headquarters in Hamar, Norway, the company considers the new office as a support to its growth strategy. Mouawad Consulting´s strategic agreements with large ship owners, as well as the impending entry into force of the BWM Convention, has accelerated the company’s growth and resource requirements.
“The decision to expand our presence into China was a logical step in our business growth strategy,” said Jad Mouawad, CEO. “The area is the central hub for retrofits and commissioning of BWMS, an area we have seen fabulous growth in the past two years. We have the opportunity to further expand staffing and capabilities in our 3D scanning, retrofit and commissioning services, and cover the large need in the Chinese market”.
