Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) has signed agreements with Chinese shipyards for the construction new vessels, significantly expanding its fleet.
According to various sources, EPS secured a significant contract with Fujian Shipbuilding’s subsidiaries, Mawei Shipbuilding and Xiamen Shipbuilding, for four firm plus four optional 5,500 CEU dual-fuel car carriers. These car carriers, measuring 190 meters in length, 35.6 meters in width, and 14.10 meters in depth, are equipped with an electric RORO system and 11 decks.
Additionally, EPS signed agreements for four firm plus four optional MR-type product tankers with Mawei Shipbuilding and Southeast Shipbuilding. The MR-type tankers measure 182.95 meters in length, 32.20 meters in width, and 19.10 meters in depth.
EPS also signed a contract with Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) and CSSC Trading for four 111,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel LR2 tankers. As informed, the tankers align with green environmental protection principles and meet IMO TIER III emission standards. These LR2 tankers are 250 meters long and 44 meters wide, with a structural draft of 14.7 meters and a speed of 14.5 knots under these draft conditions
