After the pirate’s invasion in the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker “MV Duke”, a Togolese naval patrol boat contacted the tanker vessel. Specifically, as the V.Ships Ship Management (India) informed, the new tug along with its sea staff, Master and Naval escort are en route to approach the tanker in order to resume command.
Owners and managers are working closely with all the appropriate authorities and specialists to secure the safe and speedy release of the crew members being held, this being the upmost priority.
… as V. Ships announced.
The company further noted that keeps well-informed the relatives and families of those who have been kidnapped.
For the records, the attack is considered to be “the largest abduction incident in West Africa for 2019“, as the six pirates which invaded into the tanker, kidnapped all 20 crew members except one, which assumed to be of Nigerian nationality.
