Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced that MOL acquired 100% of the issued shares of Azalea Maritime B.V. on December 21st, 2017. Azalea Maritime B.V. changed its name to “MOL Maritime (Europe) B.V.” on January 1st, 2018.
Azalea’s work is to provide crews for tankers and carriers of LNG.
“MOL Maritime (Europe) B.V. as a manning company, will continue to support MOL safe operation, while inheriting Azalea Maritime’s accumulated experience with European seafarers and know-how of the manning business,” MOL said.
The company manages 21 LNG carriers, 2 LPG carriers and 64 tankers, which are registered under different subsidiaries and joint ventures. Furthermore, it has 14 LNG carriers that are currently being constructed at Japanese, Chinese and South Korean yards.
Azalea Maritime B.V was established in January 1997 and was based in Montenegro.
