MCT ordered extra equipment as part of its upgrading project, since they now expect more volume in shipments. Also, as more investments are coming into the Misamis Oriental economic zone, they will be able to accommodate the surge in demand.
In the meantime, the Phividec Industrial Authority (PIA) which is the government agency that manages, supervises, and administers the Misamis Oriental Economic Zone where MCT is located, stated that companies are already putting up businesses in the area, and that new investments are expected to come in.
Concluding, the terminal aspires to ensure that the business community in CDO has access to the rest of the country through MCT, a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI).
