The UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) announced that one vessel was detained during March, whereas seven foreign flagged ships remained under detention in UK ports during March 2019 after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection.
New Detentions
The Polish-flagged ‘Progres’ was detained on 24th March 2019 at Parkeston Quay. Sixteen deficiencies with one ground for detention. This vessel was released on 29th March 2019
Detentions carried over from previous months
- The Panama-flagged oil/chemical tanker ‘KADRIYE ANA’ was detained on 20th February 2019 at Barking. It had 30 deficiencies with eight grounds for detention. This vessel was released on 4th March 2019.
- The Marshall Islands-flagged tanker ‘VICTORY’ was detained on 19th February 2019 at Gibraltar. Six deficiencies were found with four grounds for detention. This vessel was released on 19th March 2019.
- The Togo-flagged general cargo ‘ARESSA’ was detained on 23rd January 2019 at Goole. It had 23 deficiencies with 13 grounds for detention. This vessel was released on 31st March 2019.
- The Russian-flagged bulk carrier ‘KUZMA MININ’ was detained on 18th December 2018 at Falmouth. It had 13 deficiencies with six grounds for detention. This vessel was still detained on 31st March 2019.
- The Russian-flagged ‘Tecoil Polaris’ was detained on 6th June 2018 at Immingham, after found with 27 deficiencies with eight grounds for detention. This vessel was still detained on 31st March 2019.
- The unregistered ‘Cien Porciento’ was detained on 4 March 2010 with 30 deficiencies, including seven grounds for detention. This vessel was still detained on 31st March 2019.
- The Iceland-flagged ‘Poseidon’ was detained on 19th July 2018 at Hull. Ten deficiencies with two grounds for detention were found. This vessel was still detained on 31st March 2019
