The Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) along with the Further Marine Technology (FMT) shake their hands and inked an MoU, in order to boost their strategic cooperation. This collaboration, aims to benefit both sides by expanding their business in the South East Asian market.
Through the signed agreement the duo goals to spread its business, while is targeting to advance bulk carrier’s designs latest generation. This development has as principle the 8,000 dwt mini bulk carrier designed by FMT and classed by IRClass in 2018 – 2019 for an Indian steel and infrastructure giant.
FMT thanks IRClass for the great support to current bulk carrier project being built in China. We believe the signed MOU today will lead us to a … future co-operation of both companies towards development in China and all over the world.

The MoU was inked on 5 December at Marintec China, Shanghai as both companies will join their efforts to create innovative designs, offering higher performance. They further plan to advantage the future development of the shipbuilding and shipping companies. Moreover, FMT and IRClass called their new cooperation as “a springboard for further pursuit of new business opportunities.”
This MOU paves the way to work towards development of efficient shipping with focus on environmentally sustainable designs.

Overall, signing an MoU is considered to empower shipping industries’ collaborations. Several days ago, Port of Baku with the Asia-Europe and Korean Register (KR), Classification Society with Hyundai LNG Shipping (HLS) inked an MoU.
