The Iranian ports and maritime organization commenced negotiations on launching a passenger sea line between Chabahar and Karachi. The goal is to deploy Iranian ferry boats on the Chabahar-Muscat route.
The Foreign Minister and Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Behrouz Aghaee, visited the Shadid Kalantari passenger terminal.
During his visit, he commented that the terminal was equipped and launched in 2016 within three months, and since that year, passenger vessels have started operating between Chabahar and Muscat in Oman.

In the meantime, he also discussed about Iran’s plan on launching a passenger trip line between Chabahar and the port of Karachi in Pakistan, noting that this plan has been already approved by the Minister of Roads and Urban Planning’s trip to Pakistan and is now being pursued by the two ambassadors.
Concluding, the previous March 2018, an Iranian company bought a 150-person float, after signing an investment contract, that is to begin operations from the end of June in the Chabahar-Muscat line.
