NOAA launched an infographic providing tips and information on safe boating, given that many are the accidents taking place at sea. Safety, despite the measures taken, also comes when one is informed about the weather, according to the National Weather System. Weather can cause many accidents, keeping in mind that many have been the casualties when weather conditions have resulted to injuries and fatalities.
Concerning Safe boating tips, NOAA advises to:
- Reduce speed and head back to shore in the possibility of high winds and waves;
- Be calm and control breathing in case of emergency. Specifically, when falling in cold seas, one should minimize their time in water, get dry and warm as soon as possible;
- Be fully informed about weather forecast; In case of thunder, NOAA advises to stay in the cabin or head to shore.
