The Republic of the Marshall Islands has issued Marine Safety Advisory regarding IMO list of the National Operational Contact Points.
In order to ensure ongoing compliance with MARPOL Annex I Regulation 37.2.4,all vessels carrying a Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP), i.e. all vessels over 400GT, should have access to the latest IMO List of National Operational Contact PointsResponsible for the Receipt, Transmission and Processing of Urgent Report on IncidentsInvolving Harmful Substances, Including Oil from Ships to Coastal States, either throughdownloading MSC-MEPC.6/Circ.11 from IMODOCS or throughdownloading the relevant information from Contact Points in GISIS.
In order to ensure ongoing compliance with MARPOL Annex II Regulation 17.2.4, vessels carrying aShipboard Marine Pollution Emergency Plan (SMPEP), i.e. all vessels of 150 GT and abovecertified to carry noxious liquid substances in bulk, should have access to the same list.MSC-MEPC.6/Circ.11 is a static document, but by going to GISIS, it is possible to see the verylatest updated contact information.
To access this information, it is necessary to go tohttps://webaccounts.imo.org/ and register for aPublic Account, which is free. Once that has been done and the password to the site has beenreceived, either go to the IMODOCS home page and click on Circulars > MSC-MEPC to accessMSC-MEPC.6/Circ.11 or go to the GISIS Public Home page, click on Contact Points, choose thefirst option in the list of contact points and download the information, which can then be saved orsimply viewed. |
