As the new reality calls for social distancing measures, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) will hold all its meetings virtually until the end of 2020.
Accordingly, the long-awaited 75th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) which was postponed in March because of COVID-19, will be digitally conducted from November 16 to 20.
Recently, IMO’s Secretary General Kitack Lim commented that digitalization, big data, and new technologies such as artificial intelligence will fully contribute to the post-COVID recovery.
