Yemen’s Houthis have threatened to escalate attacks on Israel if Israel resumes its assault on Gaza and does not commit to a ceasefire deal.
Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi made these comments during a televised speech on Tuesday, emphasizing the group’s readiness to attack immediately if tensions rise again, Reuters reports. As explained, the situation in Gaza is tense, with the ceasefire deal looking fragile after Hamas stated it would halt the release of Israeli hostages, accusing Israel of violating the agreement.
In response, Israel has heightened its military readiness in Gaza and for domestic defense. The Houthis, part of Iran’s regional anti-Israel alliance, have also launched missiles and drones at Israel, further escalating regional tensions.
To remind, Ambrey had previously cautioned that the halt of Houthi attacks against shipping should not be mistaken for a complete end to hostilities.
