On 7th November, efforts were underway in an attempt to refloat a Great Lakes freighter, that went aground causing a local tourist attraction along the St. Clair River in Michigan.
In particular, as explained, one of the Lakers had stranded although they said there were no injuries or signs of pollution.
In a recent development, the U.S.-flagged vessel known as the American Courage, which is under the ownership of Grand River Navigation, embarked on its journey from Stoneport located on Lake Huron.
The U.S. Coast Guard reported that the river remained open for shipping as the vessel was outside the shipping channel.
As of this morning, the vessel is making steady progress and is now in close proximity to its intended destination, the Marine City Terminal. In breaking news, a location has been identified as being situated to the north of Detroit and Lake Saint Clair, positioned between Lake Erie and Huron.
The USCG said a full investigation will be undertaken to determine why the vessel grounded. After it is refloated, it will be inspected for damage.
