The bulk carrier ‘Guo Yuan 1’ collided with three anchored river ships, on October 9, at Zhenjiang anchorage, Yangtze river. As a result 3 ships sank, while 4 people are missing.
Namely, the Panamax bulk carrier ‘Guo Yuan 1’ collided with three river vessels, which at that time were anchored, in Zhenjiang anchorage.
The three vessels were tied together and they all sunk due to the collision.
In addition, the collision led to nine people falling into the water. Five of them were rescued, but four are still missing.
Currently, search and rescue operation is ongoing to find the missing people.
According to sources, ‘Guo Yuan 1’ was going to Nanjing, and has allegedly been detained by local authorities.
