As the Standard Club informed, it has been notified by its Dubai correspondent, regarding the UAE FTA Circular No 5 of 2019 dated 9 June 2019. The circular requires foreign flag representatives in the UAE to apply to the FTA before 30 June 2019 in order to continue with their activities in the UAE.
As the Circular says, in order to regulate and monitor the activities of registering foreign flags vessels from the UAE, all foreign flags representatives must apply to the FTA to conduct such activities before 30th of June 2019.
The application must include the following:
- A copy of the commercial/trading license;
- Original copy of the authorization and the list of the authorized signatory’s names and signatures, duly endorsed by the official authorities of the flag state, or from the embassy, consulate of that state.
In case of failure to comply with these requirements and continue to practice the activities after the deadline without obtaining the necessary permission, the FTA reserves the right to take all legal actions against those representatives, ships registered by them and ship-owners, operators or agents dealing with them.
