A fire erupted onboard the cruise ship Viking Orion in Sydney Harbour, prompting the evacuation of about 600 people.
According to local media, fire and Rescue NSW was reportedly called to the White Bay Cruise Terminal close to 8.10 am on February 3, after reports of a fire breaking out on the Viking Orion.
It is understood the fire impacted a guest cabin of the vessel. However, the blaze was reportedly extinguished at close to 8.40 am.
Paramedics rushed to the scene, but no injuries were reported. According to Viking Cruises, the fire had likely begun from an electric issue.
The company is now looking into the incident, and initial reports suggest that the cause of the fire was likely electrical, probably due to a corded device.
Scheduled operations have continued and no disruptions to the current voyage are expected.
